Sash window repair in Sandhurst

Draught Proofing across Sandhurst tends to be driven by the condition of what is already there. Property here runs to Thames-side villas, Victorian terraces and dense 1980s commercial fit-out stock, and each of those brings its own set of dimensions. Set against river humidity and localised flood exposure, most joinery here eventually shows swelling and binding on ground-floor doors after flood or high water table events. Everything we do here comes back to sealing the perimeter without making the sash stiff to operate.

We survey before anything is cut, so the schedule reflects the opening as built rather than as drawn. A quick call or a photograph of the opening is usually enough to get you a price.

One thing that catches people out here: flood-zone properties benefit from raised thresholds and marine-grade fixings.

Sandhurst questions

Is the timber certified?

All our stock is FSC certified and chain-of-custody documentation is supplied with the order, which most main contractors and specifiers now require for their records.

Do you work in hardwood or softwood?

Both. Engineered hardwood is the default where movement or exposure is a concern, and slow-grown softwood is often the better value choice for painted work in sheltered positions. We will tell you which we would specify and why.

What if the opening is out of square?

Most older openings are. The survey records the actual dimensions at several points and the unit is manufactured to suit, which is the main reason we survey rather than work from the sizes given over the phone.

Do you deliver nationwide?

Yes, we deliver across England, Wales and Scotland. Delivery is priced into the quotation so there is no separate charge added later.

How do you handle glazing?

Standard double glazed units for most work, and slim-cavity units where a conservation officer has restricted sightlines. Single glazing with putty lines is available where the consent requires it.
